Project: The Costumist Book

A foiled hardback book designed at Sotheby’s for Jonquil O’Reilly, who is ‘The Costumist’. A New York based Old Master Paintings specialist with a passion for period costume. Jonquil uses fashion to reveal the wider context of Old Master Paintings. The brief was to create something that felt fresh and modern whilst acknowledging the historic atmosphere of the Old Masters. I designed a pattern for the endpapers based on a pomegranate motif taken from one of the paintings.
